Whenever my wife and I travel, we spend part of the trip discussing where we're going next. This has the effect of extending the vacation as we're always in planning mode, thinking about where we are as well as where we'll be.

It makes life one long holiday.

I've been thinking about where I've been the last few years and where I want to go, my personal "bucket lists." Keeping them helps me stay in the vacation spirit year-round. What follows are my favorite places, a very subjective list that I hope will get you to start thinking where to go next.

I took my first plane ride in the early 1960s, New York City to Montreal, on a Boeing 707. It was the only time I ever got sick on an airplane, so if nothing else, I've learned how to control my stomach at 30,000 feet. Here are a few other things I've learned from traveling.
